Live Mixing Experience
As a former member of the groups The Standard & Soulstice vocal jazz ensembles at Kansas City Kansas Community College, I spent a year traveling with the group as their FOH live sound engineer. We've performed around the country, delivering the sweet justice of jazz harmony for educators, arrangers, and fans of this vocal genre and were clinic'd by members of such groups as Take 6, New York Voices, & The Real Group.
I've gotten the chance to work on a number of different boards, learn from some of the best in the business, and adapt to and learn my own preferences of mixing a live group through traveling alongside these vocalists.

Audio Examples!
A Cappella Pro Tools Mix
This piece was arranged for my a cappella group The Greater Minority and recorded at Lawrence Public Library and KCKCC Studios using voices only. The original intent was to make a Pro Tools Surround Mix for my final project in Audio Recording at KCKCC with each member of the group specifically positioned around the listener. I later re-mixed and mastered it for stereo using Pro Tools and is available as a single on multiple digital music stores and streaming services. Surround mix available in DTS-audio by request.
Rock Pro Tools Mix
I used to sing for a Prog Rock band, Dirigible Squared based out of Lawrence, KS. This song was written by the guitar player, Fred McClenahan, and recorded at KCKCC Studios for my 3rd semester project in Audio Recording. The tracks in this mix have been compiled from 4 live takes and a few synth/guitar/vocal overdubs. I later mastered this track in my final semester using Pro Tools. Below are photos of mic placement for the live takes. Bass was DI'd.
Hip-Hop Nuendo Mix
Mixed in Nuendo using stemmed audio tracks from a local artist provided by our instructor in my 3rd semester of Audio Recording.
Mastered in Logic Pro at my home studio.
Multitrack Live Studio Mix
Live studio board mix captured in Pro Tools. Originally recorded at KCKCC Studios in my 2nd semester of Audio Recording through an Audient ASP 8024 board onto an ADAT multitrack recording and mixed with a variety of outboard effects. Mastered in my final semester at KCKCC using Pro Tools.
One Hour Pro Tools Mix
Unmastered. Tracks provided by our instructor in my final semester as a test to mix a track within an hour.
